Construction Firm in KC Grows Rapidly, Adds Engineers

With Jon Runyan taking the helm of Kadean Construction’s Kansas City office less than a month ago, the firm now announced the addition of three professionals to support its rapid growth.

Lee Ann Polowy joins Kadean as a senior project engineer responsible for writing subcontractor contracts, procuring materials, coordinating mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection work, and supporting preconstruction on large projects.

Kirk Smith also joins the firm as a senior project engineer. He will work with preconstruction and design-build services for cannabis and industrial warehouse market clients.

In addition, Kadean created an administrative services position to provide support to project managers and engineers. Krystal Lopez, who brings more than ten years of construction experience, will manage the permitting process for new projects and organize office operations.

Runyan previously told the Kansas City Business Journal that Kadean is committed to the Kansas City market and has given him the resources and ability to build the team in order to make an impact.

“(Kadean) is a large contractor with a nationwide reach, but does business with Midwest values and without ego,” he said. “That to me is a big deal.”
